Tears & Smiles...

Tears & Smiles - Arv

After her death, he hardly cared about life.

Compelled by friends, he was now on his first date.

A few conversations later,

He said 'After her, Tears have ruled my life more than Smiles'.

She replied 'Its the same with me since my husband died'.

As they held hands, a bright smile grew inside them.

Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem - Arv

Constantly at a war with life
Amidst all the endless strife
Rebelling against unjustness
Poised to achieve greatness, through an
Eternal quest for happiness.

Day after day
I shall seek you out
Ever ready with a smile &
Making the most out of every day.

-----

Things seem to be quite dull over the last few days and self inspiration seems to be running a bit low. Funny still is the fact that am actually getting a lot of things done including more shopping and yet it doesn't seem to add that spark of excitement. For now, writing still seems to get me going through the day. I know whats missing though and I need to wait for a little more time before reaching out for it. Cheers...

p.s. Have joined with Lance Armstrong in his fight against Cancer and I have my own dedication page on his foundation for my late Dad. Let me know, if you wish to read and sign up for the campaign.

Change of Seasons – 2

Change of Seasons – 2 - Arv

note: part 1 remains unpublished till date.

Nature breathes in life with the change of seasons,
With the Autumn rustling of old leaves,
to the long sleepy days of Winter,
With the heralding cries of the Spring,
to a new lease of life in the warm Summer,
Yet, in this world, there remains some relationships,
like your friendship, where seasons never change.

D, I know the title must have told everything to you; yes it is for you cos as always talking with you has breathed in a fresh breeze into my life :)
For all my blogger mates - you don't know her but she has been here since the first day. D is not just my best friend for 6 years now but also one of my most dedicated readers. She looks for an update every morning and enjoys the read in her own sweet silent way.

---------------------------------------------

Over the last few days, I have not been sleeping well and it has lasted more than it is normal for a jet lag. Also, my blogs-ville 'times' has been shadowed too cos my name was dragged into some foul dealing that seems to have tainted my relationship with a couple of old and new blogger mates.

I know am missing from your blogs. I will try to read as much as I can and update here often but I think my stay here in blogs-ville wont be the same as it had been till the last month. This is surely no goodbye from me as a blogger or as a writer; for me, its just a change of seasons.

Four

For the last four days since my return, all that am doing is resting and am actually happy for being lazy; thanks to all those sleepless long hours at the Minnesota Office till the end of June. This laziness is also evident from the fact that am absent from some of your blogs since last week. I'm trying to get back into the normal stream of life slowly and will be regular again soon on both writing and reading fronts.

For today, I read this lovely tag and was actually requested by the Devil herself (don't be fooled by her name, she is a sweetheart from what little I know of her) to do this tag. Picking just Four from an ocean of many is too little and tough in some of the categories. So here it goes.

Four places I have lived...

  • Chennai – My home town and to me, it has the best of everything one needs though in moderate amounts :)
  • London – My second home, the home away from home, the place I would always miss when am not there. This city had taught me a lot of things, gave me some of the best memories in my life, made me meet many lovely people and most of all, its the city where I found myself.
  • Mainz – Its a quiet little town on the banks of the river Rhine, near its confluence with river Main, outside Frankfurt. Countryside life at its best. I always felt thankful to my intern days here and the lovely people I have met; a pleasant memory.
  • Twin Cities, MN – Minnesota is quite a natural place. This state has more of a countryside feel to it and the lifestyle is so relaxed. Given that the warm days of summer is short, people make the most of it when the sun shines. But, I loved my winter stay there more than the summer one :P

Four TV shows Iove(d) to watch
  • The Wonder Years – the show that dominated my childhood years.
  • Friends – was and still am addicted to it :P
  • X-files – amazing concept, just love it. Was another crazy addiction.
  • British Sitcoms – Yeah, am cheating, I cant just pick one here. There are numerous sitcoms that I tuned in to watch.

Four places I have been on Vacation
  • Singapore & Malaysia – My first big vacation abroad when I was 10 years old. Influenced my life in many ways.
  • Dubai – One of the best short holiday destination.
  • Scotland – The week long road trip, motorway rides, B&B stays – amazing road experience.
  • Borderlands of Tamil Nadu and Kerala – The cities, the towns, the mountains, the forests and all those little places in this amazing area that exists in my home state has been and still is a preferred getaway for the ultimate relaxation or adventure.

Four of my favourite Food

  • South Indian Meals – Nothing beats it :P
  • Pasta – any-time delight.
  • Fried Rice – best of the oriental ones – favs include the Schezwan and Vietnamese versions :)
  • A Full English Breakfast – with cereals replacing the eggs :P

Four places I would rather be

Apart from London and Chennai, here are the 4 places I like to be.
  • A little place in the Scottish Highlands.
  • A cosy villa in the Italian countryside especially Tuscany.
  • San Francisco – The weekend getaway here was enough to get me addicted to this city, a perfect blend of the old and the new :)
  • A private island in the south Pacific – now that's a dream to work for :)

Four things I Hope to do before I die
  • Write many books
  • Visit as many places as I can
  • Climb and Conquer Mt. Everest
  • A single long trip around the world

Four novels you wish you were reading for the first time
  • Lord of the Rings
  • Papillon
  • The Godfather
  • Sherlock Holmes

Four movies I see over and over

This depends on the genre, my mood. So ignoring the numerous any-time romantic comedies and the all-time favourites and masterpieces, here is the list of current four repeats.
  • The Godfather
  • Lord of the Rings
  • Gladiator
  • The Last Samurai

Back In India

I'm back in India though my bags are still in transit :P

I will be back to reading all your blogs once my jet lag wears off a bit.

I was following the Wimbledon in-flight and what a match it was; thanks to the lovley air-hostess who was kind enough to update me after every set :)

Tour de France is on and am watching it now :)

Have a lovely week everyone. Cheers.
